Ozro Hepworth
Thus began my adventure in growing my skills as a bodyworker, learning about other cultures, other people, and life as a whole. During my tenure as a massage therapist I worked on thousands of people, all with a wide array of concerns to work on and address. This variety allowed me to develop my massage skills quickly, and led me to wanting to know more. Thus a little detour to the Bahamas. Midway through my four years working aboard, I got my yoga teaching certificate from the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas. Knowing how to teach yoga was a great addition to my skill set as a massage therapist. This allowed me to be even more successful at my job and eventually led me to pursue spa management.

Senior Couple Exercising In Park
Why is it important to keep the physical body healthy? Given advances in modern day science, we are all probably going to live to be 100 years old. Shocking, right? We don’t often think that far in advance. What can you do today to take care of your health?   […]

Keeping the Physical Body Healthy

the-e-myth
The amazing, truly helpful book I'm referring to is titled, "The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It" by Michael E. Gerber. I feel this book is a must read for anyone aspiring to own their own business or run their own healing practice. Too many healers focus so much on the technical skills of their craft and want to help "everyone" that they end up helping very few because no one knows about them. In the book Michael covers many concepts and strategies, too many to cover in one post. So the one I want to share with you today is about the three different types of "people" who go into business. These are as follows: The Technician, The Manager, and The Entrepreneur. Each one of these personalities exist within all of us. I believe our success depends on how balanced these three aspects of are character are.

Today, modern scientific research has begun documenting the higher truth behind energy and matter. For millennia, Eastern medicine and traditions have known of the healing power of energy. It's only now in recent decades that the Western approach to health has begun to consider these truths. This fact is an amazing step forward when it comes to revolutionizing how we think about our health. Growing up, I never really went to the doctor, unless it was serious. Granted, this was partly because my family didn't have health insurance. Nevertheless, those circumstances taught me to be more reliant on my body and mind when it came to recovering from a cold or the flu. At age 19 I began studying bodywork at the Utah College of Massage Therapy. That was my first exposure to alternative medicine. I learned modalities such as craniosacral , acupressure, reflexology and shiatsu. Fast forward 12 years and thousands of hours of experience, and you would have found me attending a Polarity Therapy introduction class and eventually a "Polarity I" course.
